Leidos has openings for Senior IT Field Technicians in support of NASA’s programs in multiple Facilities. The Senior IT Field Technician will be responsible for:
Installing, supporting, and/or maintaining LANs and/or WANs; evaluating and recommending networking product and software upgrades.
Performing technical analyses of software, hardware and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations.
Monitoring data traffic and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission.
Manage conference room technologies such as audio-visual equipment, video conferencing systems and Surface Hubs.
Identifying, diagnosing and resolving technical problems related to network failure/integrity and usage of PC hardware and software.
Utilizing existing knowledge while building additional knowledge of the company, client, and processes.
Resolving work orders for Network and VOIP issues.
Solving a range of straightforward problems.
Analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures.
Completing work with a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Solving standard problems by analyzing possible solutions using experience, judgement, and precedents.
Impacting quality of own work and the work of others on the team.

Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or 10 years of experience in lieu of degree.
5 or more years of relevant experience
3+ years of cable plant experience working with fiber optic, copper, and category cabling.
3+ years’ experience troubleshooting complex routing and switching issues.
3+ years’ experience configuring switches, routers, network appliances, WAN acceleration devices.
Ability to work flexible hours, i.e., weekends or late afternoons and evenings.
Required Skills:
Advanced troubleshooting skills
Senior Level knowledge of configuring and maintaining network devices such as switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and network appliances.
Knowledge of voice, video, data, and wireless network technologies (e.g., LAN/WAN, Wireless, VoIP, Physical security, Video conferencing).
Understanding of network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, and routing protocols.
Ability to work in a team environment to resolve technical issues in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients and team members effectively.
Ability to interpret network drawings and specifications.
Ability to identify different colors and telecom color codes.
Comprehensive knowledge of Audio-Visual (AV) system components, including cameras, microphones, speakers, displays and control interfaces.
At least one certification in SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture Television Engineering)
Basic knowledge of video scopes and waveforms
Hands-on experience with calibrating and configurating video components and hardware.
Lifting of heavy objects of up to 50 pounds
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
BICSI Certification
CCNA or other Networking Certification
Experience with NASA
Experience in integration Q-SYS audit systems with collaboration platforms for seamless audio-conferencing experiences.
Familiarity with designing, programming, and troubleshooting Crestron AV systems, including control interfaces for room automation and integration with collaboration platforms.

Pay Range:Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
