RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Float Registration Specialist to join our team. As a Float Registration Specialist, you will provide services to patients and referring professionals by cheerfully greeting and registering patients and performing other duties as assigned. Travels to multiple locations within the local market.
This is a temporary, full-time, 40 hours per week position with variable hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
(60%) Registration
- Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays with patients
- Fields calls appropriately for center associates
- Calls patients to confirm upcoming appointments
- Acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information
- Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean up
- Prepares paperwork for daily and upcoming appointments
- Faxes reports, billing requests, and medical release forms to referring offices as requested
- Works closely with technologists to ensure patients have a smooth transition between the front office and technical areas
(15%) Insurance
- Verifies patient's insurance
- Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
- Obtains insurance authorization
- Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
- Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines
(15%) Scheduling
- Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
- Enters and submits patient exam orders
- Verifies orders match exam schedules
- Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
- Schedules walk-in patients
(5%) Medical Records
- Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
- Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
(5%) Completes other duties as assigned
