RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Registration Specialist to join our team. As a Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a per diem position working varying shifts throughout the week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
(75%) Registration
- Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays with patients
- Fields calls appropriately for center associates
- Calls patients to confirm upcoming appointments
- Acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information
- Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean up
- Prepares paperwork for daily and upcoming appointments
- Faxes reports, billing requests, and medical release forms to referring offices as requested
- Works closely with technologists to ensure patients have a smooth transition between the front office and technical areas
(10%) Insurance
- Verifies patient's insurance
- Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
- Obtains insurance authorization
- Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
- Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines
(10%) Scheduling
- Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
- Enters and submits patient exam orders
- Verifies orders match exam schedules
- Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
- Schedules walk-in patients
- Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
- Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
(5%) Completes other duties as assigned
