Position Summary...What you'll do... As Senior Manager, Controllership - Accounting Policy and Investment COE you will partner with leaders across Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Corporate Development (M&A), Legal, Finance, and Operations to shape Walmart's accounting policies, adoption of new accounting standards, and investment accounting processes.What you'll do and how you will make an impact:
- Shape Walmart's interpretation, implementation, and adoption of new US GAAP pronouncements.
- Organization and coordination of accounting policy projects - including planning, fact gathering, impact analysis and reporting on the project - serve as the single point of contact for project.
- Ownership of the overall project timeline/deliverables and assistance with resource allocation.
- Participation in quarterly leadership meetings to discuss accounting policy, accounting standard emerging topics, and investment accounting.
- Identification of project risks and necessary escalation, including delays to overall project timeline.
- Oversight of related change management, communication, and training to support policy/investment projects - including key stakeholder assessment.
- Building collaborative relationships with key partners across the organization to drive successful impact analysis, adoption and accounting and controls for investments.
- Supporting close and reporting processes for global investments.
- Ensuring new accounting process and controls are supported and applied consistently.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline and automate existing/new investment accounting processes as well as partnering with our shared services providers.
- Providing accounting support for new investments and enhancing an investment subledger
- Ensuring internal controls for investments are designed and operating effectively as our business/operational strategies evolve.
