Walmart Software Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in bringing reliability for GMP and is results-oriented with an intersection of strong Systems / Infra Engineering, Automation and DevOps. You will be an integral part of Global Marketplace SRE/DevOps team. As we look at the growing Marketplace business and focusing for better seller experience, you will be collaborating and coordinating with multiple cross functional teams and will make great impact with experience in KTLO, infra upgrades, DevOps consultation and System Reliability aspects.
About the Team: Walmart ecommerce sites handle thousands of visitors and millions of transactions per hour and when something stops working, hundreds of thousands of dollars are lost. Imagine the activity, the transactions, and the data that flows through one of the largest ecommerce sites in the world. Now imagine what it might take to keep that site up, performing and running efficiently. Our team together will manage a large scale of systems made up of thousands of virtual servers / Container Pods, request rates in the hundreds of thousands per second and data measured in petabytes. Our team should be able to maintain high availability and reliability of Marketplace platform that helps our sellers to have a seamless experience. Team is responsible for 24/7 KTLO, consultation, tooling, monitoring, and alert / incident troubleshooting. You will bring energy and relentless focus on value adding contributions within a fast-paced environment.

- Define monitoring needs for ensuring Best Customer Experience
- Partner with other Engineering teams to have the right tool set to deliver Best Customer Experience on Walmart eCommerce Site.
- Build tools for efficient operational excellence.
- Proactive contribution to tooling and automation opportunities for ease of handling large scale operations
- Contribute to building and maintain Walmart's next generation of infrastructure Platform.
- Administration and safeguarding of production infrastructure
- Drive improvements in all aspects of service delivery, including change management, continuous delivery, security, monitoring, administration, and reliability in a mission-critical, 24/7 e-commerce marketplace environment.
- Own the day-to-day health, uptime, monitoring, and reliability of services and server infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and support high-performance, highly available services and infrastructure.
- Maintain good communication with other stakeholders and partners.
- Deployment, support and monitoring of new platforms and application stacks.
What you'll Bring ...
- At least 2+ years of experience in Automation with Python or Golang language preferred.
- Experience with any database such as SQL / NOSQL are preferred.
- Hands-on working experience with Web API / REST services
- Hands-on working experience on cloud (AZ/AWS/GCP/OpenStack), Kubernetes/Docker
- Worked on analyzing any metrics data and monitor for trend changes.
- Working knowledge on automation / tooling using any scripting language like Python / GoLang or any other programming language.
- Can understand and handle, high level system design / distributed cloud setups.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Unix/Linux systems with scripting experience in Shell, Perl or Python.
- Strong knowledge of core protocols and tech such as: TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, load balancers, distributed file systems, SSL Certs, key-value and relational databases.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible
- Experience with specific software such as Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Cassandra, and similar technologies is desirable, but the ability to quickly learn new technology is most important.
- Experience in Java Application Development working in the largely distributed system preferred.
- Expertise in problem solving and analyzing global scale distributed systems.
- Logging and Monitoring experience designing, deploying, and running systems like Splunk, ELK, New Relic or other APM solutions.
- Contribute to automated approaches to avoid manual KTLO and repeated tasks.
- Flexibility to learn and utilize internal / enterprise tooling in Walmart.
