Position Summary...
What you'll do...Supports special initiatives working with other tax department stakeholders to manage the processes and the projects to meet company's income taxaccounting responsibilities; analyzing and determining assigned effective tax rate implications and issues; reporting on and explaining effective taxrates to financial planning group for budgeting and forecasting purposes; identifying new tax credits, regulations, or opportunities; identifying newcompany projects allowing for new tax credits; researching and forecasting tax and audit trends; providing input to company tax saving strategies;proposing best practices; and developing and overseeing alternative deal structures to reduce tax burdens.Oversees the execution of tax planning by modeling; working with leadership; demonstrating an understanding of complex tax concepts; discussingcomplex tax issues with the business teams; and keeping informed of current tax developments.Reviews tax returns and other reporting of operations by developing and executing plans to analyze data; supporting controls over income taxreporting, accruals, and payments; validating tax work papers for federal, state, and international operations; executing and ensuring correction ofdeficiencies; guiding and mentoring analysts in income tax compliance processes and procedures; and preparing and reporting test results.Manages the implementation of complex tax activities and initiatives to ensure compliance and efficiency by collaborating with subject matter expertsto maintain and align compliance policies with tax laws and regulations; coordinating the reconciliation process for tax accounts; managingcompliance processes for the department; assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding documentation;assisting in evaluating the impact of taxation and business trends; providing subject matter expertise on complex tax audit matters by researchingnew and changing tax legislation; collaborating with government agencies on new initiatives and changes; working with internal and external auditorsto ensure accurate financial statement reporting; and maintaining and testing processes for Sarbanes-Oxley reporting and compliance.Manages communication of changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate preparation of tax returns by monitoring legislative and regulatorychanges; managing team and providing expertise to support company tax saving strategies; working with leadership to drive strategies for tax-relatedprocesses; managing alternative deal structure developments to reduce tax burdens; consulting with state revenue departments on business issues;partnering with company buyers to facilitate and provide input into operational decisions; and overseeing tax-related training and mentoring initiatives.Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating businessplans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuringprogress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring;
