Mechanic/Technician Apprentice
Are you ready to help move us forward? UTA is looking for a Mechanic/Technician Apprentice!
This is a competency-based program that has participants involved in technical instruction, classroom instruction as required and passing written tests. You will perform manual tasks under supervision and assist advanced-skill employees in complex repairs/component rebuilds using the necessary tools as directed. You will also perform preventative maintenance inspections and associated repairs as well as any other related assigned duties.
Pay Range: $26.07 to $30.07 per hour starting (four-year wage progression)
Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Have a current, or be able to acquire a class “B” CDL with passenger endorsement within 60 days of eligibility.
- Successful candidates must have ALL of the following:
- A current, or be able to acquire, valid Class B CDL driver’s license and associated endorsements.
- Able to pass both an aptitude and standardized test determined by UTA. Employees will be able take both of these tests on UTA time. UTA will pay the standardized test fee, one time, for qualifying employees.
- The required tools.
- Successful candidates must have ONE of the following:
- Have a 2-year degree in a related field
- Have a military MOS in a related field
- Have one year of related technical school AND one year of related experience
- Have 6 months UTA experience (TVT/Helper level).
