What we need We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to join our Electrical Design team within our Core Hardware Engineering team. You will oversee the proper functioning of your team of electrical engineers, designers, and drafters. The manager is responsible for carrying out and delivering automation projects. You will work closely with the project manager, the client, and the controls team for technical matters. You will set up processes and tools to ensure project success.
What we do The Electrical Design team is part of the Core Hardware Engineering team which is responsible for the Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems.
What you'll do Resource Management
- Plan and assign tasks to resources.
- Interface directly with Design partners leadership and engineering teams.
- Provides site support (T4).
- Monitors the needs of the team and shares them with the General Manager .
- Carry out performance reviews, technical development assessments and foster the pursuit of career path objectives through training sessions, seminars and other venues.
- Work with the leadership team in the pursuit of department objectives .
- Communicate the vision and values expressed in corporate policies.
- Address emergencies and other challenging situations.
Technical Management
- Work in collaboration and provide support to the Chief Architect .
- Mange and support a team of engineers, designers and drafters assigned to projects.
- Ensure smooth execution and cohesion of electrical engineering work (standards, designs, analysis, etc.)
- Collaborate with design partners and monitor their electrical deliverables.
- Assess the need for resources for project execution.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and processes.
- Plan work to meet deadlines, budget requirements and system performance criteria.
- Ability to travel up to 35%.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant training .
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical and mechanical engineering teams .
- 3 years' experience leading a team of Engineers, designers, or equivalent .
- Strong knowledge in AutoCAD Electrical .
- Knowledge of standards and laws surrounding electrical design .
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) .
- Knowledge in SolidWorks and AutoCAD .
Our Environment
- Up to 35% of travel may be required . Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
