GENERAL SUMMARY: Works with the Maintenance staff to maintain equipment in working order and to maintain the standards set forth by D.C. management. Responsible for using tools and equipment necessary for the maintenance of the Distribution Center. Must follow all safety precautions when working with equipment, including Lockout/Tagout procedures. Must maintain a sense of urgency while not jeopardizing quality and safety.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on distribution center equipment and vehicles, and maintain accurate and thorough records of maintenance completed
- Troubleshoot issues with equipment and vehicles and determine/recommend an appropriate solution
- Proactively advise Maintenance Manager of potential problems so that a plan of action can be determined prior to a problem developing
- Maintain a safe working environment and equipment by following all safety rules, procedures, and regulations, with specific regard to lockout/tagout procedures
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Assist in maintaining an accurate parts inventory
- Carry out special assignments as directed by Maintenance Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience
- PLC and low voltage controls experience
- Multi electrical instrument knowledge
- Ability to lift 70 pounds
- Ability to operate power tools, hand held tools, and lift trucks
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment and conveyor system
- Possess a basic understanding of 24- to 480-volt electrical systems
- Ability to read and understand diagrams, blueprints, operation manuals, etc.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights
- Availability to work the hours necessary to ensure completion of necessary tasks
- Prior maintenance experience in a distribution or production environment is desirable
