The Manufacturing Systems Domain Architect defines and manages overall Manufacturing architecture. The architect also champions IT and business convergence and leads the adoption of an integrated technology and information stack to support the overall Sherwin Williams business goals and objectives.The Domain Architect is responsible for working with business leaders, business relationships managers, the architecture community (EA/DA/SA), and Digital Technology (DT) leadership to understand and drive the vision and business strategy for manufacturing. The architect also will be responsible for mapping business needs with technical capabilities, services, and products aligned with digital technology strategy, standards, and roadmaps.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for strategic architecture plans, system design, and implementation standards for mission critical industrial systems in the Manufacturing domain.
- Provide consulting and technology recommendations to support Industry 4.0 and IIOT initiatives, help mature existing capabilities, or enable new capabilities.
- Collaborate with programs, products, and projects to understand Manufacturing technology dependencies, anticipate risks, and identify opportunities.
- Contribute Manufacturing domain expertise to feasibility, complexity assessments of potential future initiatives.
- Partner with Global Supply Chain Engineering and DT innovation teams to collaborate on identifying opportunities for new innovations in areas such as Predictive Maintenance, AI/ML, Expert Systems, and Autonomous Manufacturing.
- Partner with Global Supply Chain business Leadership, IT Leaders, and Enterprise Architecture to manage the Manufacturing architecture in support of the vision, strategy, and execution to meet business requirements.
- Develop an integrated view of Manufacturing capabilities and processes, using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry best practices and techniques.
- Accountable for Manufacturing domain architecture decisions to support IT/OT convergence.
- Manage the overall Manufacturing domain technology roadmap to align to the OneSHW business strategy.
- Facilitate the process of defining and publishing standards, best practices, capabilities, manufacturing roadmap, synchronized with the overall enterprise future state architecture.
- Provide guidance and recommendation on streamlining business processes and technologies enabled for the Manufacturing to support a vertically integrated business model
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
- Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 12+ years of IT experience.
- 8+ years of IT/OT Systems Architecture experience in a complex Manufacturing ecosystem.
- 4+ years of building both traditional and cloud native architectures in support of digital transformation.
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Experience with OT technologies such as PLC, SCADA/DCS platforms, field devices, industrial protocols, Modbus, OPC, MES / PLM, MQTT
- Experience assessing complex problems and breaking down into simple solutions focused on key customer needs.
- Understanding of modern technologies, platforms, and development practices to support digital transformation.
- Experience with modern data integration patterns, techniques, and technologies.
- Understanding of architecture and design concepts and capable of setting and driving long term technology and application roadmaps.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
Preferred:
- Experience with message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data tools and technologies
- Experience architecting and developing solutions using Inductive Automation Ignition platform
