General Description
Leads the planning, development and execution of Total Productive Maintenance within the manufacturing site. Support and lead safety, quality and productivity improvements through the application of TPM and loss elimination initiatives. Actively engage employees throughout the manufacturing site to achieve targeted business goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with a wide variety of corporate leadership, site leadership, site associates, outside vendors and contractors to drive improvements in safety, quality, production efficiency, costs and loss reduction.
- Develops Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean-Six Sigma capabilities at the site.
- Plans, leads and supports TPM implementation at the site including Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Early Equipment Management and Focus Teams.
- Coordinates with other TPM stakeholders within sites share practices, drive standardization and improve results.
- Provide technical leadership to site leadership to effect improvements on production lines.
- Understand Plastipak financial metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Map TPM implementation strategy by both milestones and metrics; track progress of both.
- Leads teams to develop and maintain engineering competencies at the sites by coaching and mentoring to build capabilities.
- Acts as the subject matter expert on TPM processes and implementation.
- Leads CI events through hands-on participation.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma experience is required. Black Belt Certification is preferred.
- At least 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience, leading TPM implementation and continuous improvement projects required.
- Experience leading technical resources to successfully maintain production line equipment to achieve high levels of productivity.
- Solid analytical, problem solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Self-starter and strong leadership skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel is required.

- Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the Production area. Could involve long periods of Computer work.
- Able to lift 40 lbs. continuously; and able to lift 70 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
- Postural activities include climbing, maneuvering, bending, stooping, kneeling. Crouching, crawling above, under and around machinery, equipment and conveyors continuously throughout entire shift.
- Reaching, handling, touching grasping machine parts, controls, control panels, levers, switches continuously while repairing machines.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms and scaffolding to diagnose/troubleshoot machine and equipment occasionally.
- Ability to work in non-permit required confined spaces and at heights of 15’ to 20’.
- Physical effort required, continuous mental and visual attention required
- 7 day a week operation; may require working more than 40 hours.
- The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and Hearing Protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens.
