Essential Job Functions:The partner must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Act as first-level support and investigator for employee relations issues, assessing severity and partnering with appropriate business partners as necessary on concerns that have potential legal risk to facilitate appropriate action that is based on applicable practice, standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Provide DC Management team guidance and interpretation on company policies, procedures and practices.
- Coordinates and cofacilitates the annual benefits open enrollment meetings.
- Provides general oversight of time and attendance processing on a biweekly basis and serves as a subject matter expert to coach, train and guide DC management on various system platforms.
- Collaborates with the DC HR Manager and the DC management team on future staffing needs, prepares detailed analyses on turnover and other partner-related metrics, and shares perspective and insight on trends and retention recommendations.
- Partners with the DC HR Manager, management team and Talent Acquisition to post and fill open exempt and non-exempt positions. Assists DC management team with moving hourly candidates through the applicant tracking workflow and supports the onboarding for all new hires. Also follows up on requests for new/revised job classifications and develops appropriate job descriptions as needed.
- Coordinates the worker's compensation process, including training DC management on the reporting process, and participates in post-accident screening and investigations. Also works collaboratively with Risk Management and DC management on return-to-work accommodations and claim management.
- Respond to unemployment claims by assisting in the collection of required information and participating as a company representative during routine hearings.
- Participates in the Talent Assessment and performance review and reward cycle, supporting the DC HR Manager and DC management team with process management and communication.
- Audit and improve human resources and training systems to ensure compliance with all administrative requirements.
- Collaborates with the DC HR team and HRCOEs to identify best practices and improvements to policy, procedures, and processes to promote uniform practice within the DC network.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources. 1+ years of related experience in a distribution, retail and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills and PHR certification preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications, as well as HRIS, applicant tracking, time and attendance and other HR related platforms.
