Overview:
Compensation / Benefits
- $21.15-$34.55/hr. based on previous work experience.
- Evening differential $1.10/hr.
- Night differential $1.25/hr.
- Weekend differential $1.25/hr.

Our Sterile Processing Department is a fast paced, team oriented, quality driven team consisting of 22 members, with experience ranging from 6 months to 37 years. The types of procedures performed in our health system include cardiology, orthopedics, dental, endocrine, ear, nose and throat, general surgery, robotics, gynecology, labor and delivery, neurology urology, and bariatrics. As a team, we process between 2500 and 15,000 instruments per day. Responsibilities:
- Under direction from the CSSP Manager or Surgical Services Director, is responsible for the instruments, equipment, and systems needed to support surgical operations throughout Norman Regional.
- Serves as a liaison between the surgery department and CSSP.
- Regularly rounds on surgeries to ensure proper instruments are in the sets.
- Serves as the go-to person to address instrument concerns including going to the OR rooms directly to identify and resolve OR concerns/needs.
- Responsible for maintaining the Instrument Tracking System.
- Specifically,managing the building, modification, or deletion of all instrument inventory.
- Partners with HIT to manage and reconcile the Instrument Dictionary within the hospital preference card software system.
- In conjunction with department leadership is responsible for the management of facility loaner and consignment instrument program.
- Oversees the maintenance and ordering of supplies and instruments.
- Uses facility software for supply/instrument requisition placement through the Material's ordering systems.
- Performs simple record keeping and practices.
- Demonstrates effective customer service skills.
- Creates and manages quality reports related to instruments, instrument quality, and team productivity.
- Establishes effective relationships with medical staff, peers, and subordinates.
- Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and computer skills.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain composure and focus when working under pressure.
- Is flexible and adapts to changing priorities and work flow.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
- Required-High School Diploma/GED.
- Preferred-college degree in Surgical Technology, Business Management, Materials/Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration or relevant field of study.
Experience
- Two years minimum of recent Central Supply, Sterile Processing, and/or Surgical Services experience required.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure/Certification
- Must have CRCST or CSPDT certification or obtain the credential within 9 months of accepting the position.
- Preferred candidates will also have achieved the CIS or CSIS credential.
- Surgical Techs with the the CST credential and appropriate combination of experience may be considered.
Other Skills / Knowledge/Abilities
- Required-MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Required-Instrument Tracking software experience.
- Censitrack knowledge/experience preferred.
- Preferred-Meditech, Staples.
- Regarded Favorably-Rep/Vendor Sign-In/Out Software.
