Job Summary: The Safety Manager will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Working closely with the management team, this position is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety and risk management processes at the site level. The Safety Manager will also be responsible for compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards, including OSHA.
Responsibilities:
- Safety and Risk Management Oversight:
- Assume full responsibility for the safety and risk management process at the site level.
- In sure compliance with safety policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and maintain a safe workplace for all employees.
- Training and Compliance:
- Provide safety training guidelines based on current OSHA regulations.
- Organize and conduct on-site safety training sessions for employees.
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Safety Program Implementation:
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and ensure consistency in safety program implementation.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to address safety-related issues effectively.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with safety regulations, review accident investigation reports, and evaluate procedures for continuous improvement.
- Apply current laws and regulations in the inspection of company safety protocols.
- PSM (Process Safety Management) Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with PSM and Risk Management Plan (RMP) and all related local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide leadership on all 14 elements of PSM, including training, audits, and process reviews.
- Communication and Training:
- Schedule and organize meetings to provide information on workplace safety issues to employees and management.
- Support plant Safety teams by providing training and resources.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain training records, safety reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and recommend corrective actions to management.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Experience: Minimum of five to seven years of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) experience.
- Certifications: OSHA 10/30hr Training (or equivalent), Driver’s license, PSM-associated ammonia refrigeration certification, RETA certification, OSHA certification.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access, familiarity with ADP/Ceridian payroll system, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The Safety Manager must adhere to safety policies and procedures, promote safety as a core value, and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
