Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Production Planning Manager, this position participates in the morning management meetings and works with site operations to coordinate the day’s activities in the facility to align with the direction set in the morning meetings. This person uses modern production planning and scheduling tools to integrate picking, staging, multi –line, automation, manual packing, and large non conveyable packing on the hourly and daily basis.
Primary Functions:
- Operates as and has influence with the site management team
- Participates in setting the plan of action for the day, which is consistent with workload, resource availability, and priorities.
- Coordinate workflow of the wave planning assistant and flow controller through intelligent wave releasing to balance and achieve goals among inbound and outbound areas to maintain continuity between shifts.
- Coordinate shift transition to prepare the incoming groups of any critical issues / workload carried over from previous shift that needs to be addressed.
- Reviews forecast(s) 30days in advance to identify potential production issues such as commodity shifts, high volume free shipping events, large non conveyable or other labor/process intensive opportunities.
- Takes and provides direction in the management meetings to align shift/daily production. Steers the release of picks on an hourly, or more frequent, basis with feedback on packer availability, status of automation, packing backlog, picker availability, exceptions, etc.
- Adjusts daily production plans 3 days out based upon available staffing, updates to forecast, trend to forecast, etc.
- Serves as a central control point with most up to date status of the work load in the facility. Presents a common view of what is happening and planned in the warehouse at any time. Bridges the four shifts and provides a clear channel for communication of workload status and production plan amongst supervisors, operation managers and assistant general manager.
- Plans waves based in engineered standard criteria as well as exception rules.
- Directs the wave planning assistants to release pick waves to balance picking, staging, automation, packing, and multi-line resources, while maintaining the priorities and due dates of RTV and Customer orders.
- Assists in trouble shooting problem orders that will not wave and other WMS related issues. Works closely with site staffing group to ensure shift / daily labor plan is in alignment with production expectations derived from wave creation/releases (workflow).
- Interacts frequently and before every hourly update of the status with Picking, Staging, Multiline, Packing, Exception Processing, Packing Coordinators, Assessment and Balancing.
- Monitors performance against production plan, and provides progress updates throughout the day ensuring points of failure are identified, communicated and addressed.
- Utilize history, forecast(s) and other analytical tools, to contact Shift Planning meetings with Operations and other support areas. Executes pick release consistent with agreed plans.
- Single point of contact for all inbound, order filling and outbound supervisors to provide feedback and address issues related to picking volumes and priorities.
- Prepares and publish overview related to shift plans
- Analyzes and reviews key indicators and builds contingency plans based on performance and trends.
- Analyzes and reviews aged orders to assist and provide direction in their resolution.
- Produces recommended out away strategy for large volume events with focus on expedited processing while reducing variable manpower CPU. Ensures optimal warehouse placement for speed of pick and packing processing.
Minimum formal education, if any, required to perform this job:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience.
Minimum job skills required to perform this job:
- Strong analytical skills required.
- Need to posse clear understanding of TJX distribution policies.
- Must understand the basic factors that drive our customer on time performance.
- Demonstrated leadership, decision- making skills and initiative required.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Access required.
- Experience with WMS/Intelligrated systems in a high volume environment required.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of distribution principles and process from both a systems and workflow perspective (specifically in a direct-to- consumer model).
Minimum experience required to perform this job:
- 3-5 years of fulfillment/distribution experience

This position has a starting salary range of $63,600 - $85,900 per year.
