1st Shift Shipping Lead - $21-22/Hour

What will you be doing?

• This position is responsible for assigning work orders to pullers and overseeing all aspects of order processing to include, proper order pulling and placement, proper shipping and packing, and invoicing. 
• Lead oversees delivery drivers, routes them daily and is responsible for delivery dispatch.
• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules & expedites work flow for the Shipping dept. 
• Handles Will-Call, orders and interactions and insures orders are processed in a timely manner
• Ensures correct shipments of all customer orders, Monitors Pickers & Packers productivity
• Trains Material Handlers, Cycle Counters and Pickers in the proper procedures for maintaining inventory 
• Investigates shortages and overages of items on all customers orders 
• Verifies with Packers that shipment is ready for weighing and shrink-wrapping 
• Prepares all UPS documents 
• Verifies shipments thoroughly before item is shipped 
• Prepares and organizes all ground deliveries and delivery routes daily, as well as coordinating with drivers in the field to handle immediate customer concerns. 
• Complies with all general safety guidelines administered by OSHA 
• Responsible for injury/accident reporting 
• Responsible for training, disciplinary actions, evaluations and productivity of the Shipping Department Material Handlers 
• Works with Human Resources in communicating & resolving employee issues 
• Responsible to ensure that employees adhere to all company policies & procedures including safety 

What do you bring?

• 2-5 years of supervision experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. 
• Knowledge of UPS (and similar) shipping process 
• Able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks to move stock 
• 7-year criminal background check and a 5-panel urinalysis drug test.
