Leidos is seeking an Agile Project Manager for our multifaceted, flagship, software application, being developed at our customer site in Reston, Virginia. This diverse suite of tools will incorporate the latest in web application, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality technologies. As an Agile Project Manager, you'll lead projects using innovative methodologies like Scrum, ensuring efficient project delivery while fostering collaboration with various development teams and adaptability within the customer environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead Agile Practices: Drive the adoption and implementation of agile methodologies across projects, ensuring teams understand and adhere to agile principles and practices.
Project Planning and Execution: Develop project plans, set goals, and manage project timelines, scope, and resources using agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including customers, team members, and management, ensuring transparency and alignment on project goals and progress.
Scrum Master Role: Act as a Scrum Master for one or more agile teams, facilitating agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Team Empowerment: Foster a culture of self-organization and empowerment within agile teams, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, impediments, and dependencies, proactively addressing challenges to ensure project success.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that agile teams adhere to quality standards and practices, promoting the delivery of high-quality products or services through continuous testing and feedback loops.
Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure project progress and team performance, providing regular status updates and reports to stakeholders, as defined by the program.
Continuous Improvement: Facilitate retrospectives and lessons learned sessions to drive continuous improvement within agile teams and across projects, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Collaboration and Leadership: Foster a collaborative and supportive environment, serving as a servant leader to the agile team(s) and promoting cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Agile Coaching and Mentoring: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members and stakeholders on agile principles, practices, and techniques, helping them grow and develop their agile skills and mindset.
Tool and Process Adoption: Evaluate and recommend agile tools and processes to streamline project management and improve team productivity, staying informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in agile methodologies.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field with 12+ years of prior relevant experience in project management, focusing on agile methodologies OR a master’s degree in a relevant field with 10+ years of prior relevant experience in project management, focusing on agile methodologies.
Candidates may substitute a degree with an additional 4 years of relevant experience, alongside 4+ years of prior experience in project management with a focus on agile methodologies
Proven experience leading agile projects, utilizing frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean Agile.
Demonstrated ability to implement and refine agile processes and best practices within project teams.
Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
Experience in managing complex projects with cross-functional teams and tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving project objectives (not sure how to reword this one, but it just sounds so P5ey+)
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions
Sound decision-making abilities, with a focus on balancing risks and opportunities to drive project success.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to adjust project plans and strategies based on evolving business needs and feedback.
Understanding of software development processes and technologies, with the ability to engage with technical teams to facilitate project delivery.
Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and teamwork within project teams, promoting a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability.
Clearance Requirement:
Candidate must possess at a minimum an active and in scope Top Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain SCI with Polygraph (active or reactivatable). This requires US citizenship. Possession of an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with full-scope polygraph is highly preferred. Candidates with existing TS/SCI clearance will be given priority consideration.
Preferred Qualifications and Traits for Success in this Role:
For success in this role, it is recommended that candidates be on the path to a Project Management Professional (PMP) or CAPM certification.
Experience managing agile projects within government contracts, particularly in the defense or intelligence sectors, is desirable.
Understanding of government contracting processes, regulations, and compliance requirements is advantageous.
Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration in complex project environments.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including military personnel, government officials, and contractors.
Proven ability to navigate security-critical environments and make sound decisions under pressure.
Experience identifying and mitigating security risks and ensuring compliance with relevant security protocols and procedures.
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving technologies, methodologies, and operational requirements within the defense and intelligence domains.
Ability to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to ISR systems and agile project management.

Pay Range:Pay Range $98,150.00 - $177,425.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
