The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is looking for a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst that will support the AFNCR IT Services program at Joint Base Andrews, MD.
Job Summary:The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR, missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas required are IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E); and National Military Command Center (NMCC). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
Security Compliance: Ensuring that information systems comply with relevant security policies, regulations, and standards. This involves staying updated on security requirements and implementing necessary measures to address vulnerabilities.
Risk Management: Identifying and assessing potential security risks to information systems. This includes conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
Access Control: Managing and enforcing access controls to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information and systems. This may involve user account management, access reviews, and privilege management.
Security Training and Awareness: Providing security awareness training to personnel within the communication squadron. Ensuring that users understand and adhere to security policies and best practices.
Incident Response: Assisting in the detection, analysis, and response to security incidents. This may involve collaborating with incident response teams and taking appropriate actions to contain and mitigate security incidents.
Security Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date security documentation, including security plans, risk assessments, and compliance reports. This documentation is crucial for audits and inspections.
Security Audits and Inspections: Participating in security audits and inspections to ensure that information systems and practices align with regulatory requirements and security standards.
Security Technology Implementation: Assisting in the implementation and configuration of security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
Continuous Monitoring: Monitoring and analyzing security events to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities. Implementing continuous monitoring processes to enhance the overall security posture.
Collaboration: Working closely with other members of the communication squadron, IT professionals, and security personnel to address security concerns and implement effective security measures.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachlor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience, in lieu of a degree additional years of experience will be accepted.
Ability to solve challenging issues with little to no guidance through troubleshooting a variety of technical issues related to hardware, software, applications, telecommunications, desktops, mobile devices, and printers.
Familiarity with security concepts with the ability to apply those concept.
Hands-on experience with Active Directory and managing user access.
Documentation and Ticketing: Proficiency in documenting information and data in ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and Remedy/Smart IT.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as evidenced by coordinating and proactively engaging with teams, providing technical support over calls and emails, and generating reports.
Understanding of security policies, regulations, and standards, as demonstrated by the ability to ensure compliance and manage risk.
Proficient in using various IT tools, including Excel and Word for documentation and storage of information.
DoD 8570 Compliant certifications to include IAT-II at start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Air Force customer experience, specifically on the AFNCR IT Services program.
Experience with any of the following tools: Trellix, HBSS, ELK, Security Onion, Ansible, Big Data Platform, ELICSAR.
