Description
Leidos' Health and Civil Sector are looking for an AWS Certified Cloud Architect to support a modernization program for the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA). Contingent upon contract award.
Role is expected to be hybrid/onsite and candidate must be local to the DC Metro area. US citizen or US Person(Green Card Holder) required with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
This program provides support implementing a modernization solution to improve agility and productivity through the reduction of time needed for changes to be implemented in production, reducing the level of effort for application development, ensuring the ability to enforce compliance, governance, and security, enhancing the user experience; and reducing overall program costs over time. Task areas include, but are not limited to contract management, program management support, cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance management, security policy and procedure support, application development, data management and analytics, and end-user support.
The AWS Cloud Architect shall perform the following tasks:
- Serve as lead Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) in designing and implementing robust cloud solutions using AWS meeting business requirements.
- Design secure and compliant AWS-based systems, considering cybersecurity best practices and principles.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure code using tools in CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and identifying potential vulnerabilities within the cloud infrastructure.
- Implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks identified through risk assessments.
- Implement and manage robust security controls, encryption methods, identify and access management (IAM) and ensure adhering to compliance standards within AWS services.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with AWS services.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security practices within the CI/CD pipeline, implement automated security testing, and ensuring a secure development lifecycle.
- Identify and resolve issues in AWS infrastructure and applications.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity or related field plus 12 years of experience (additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- AWS Cloud Solutions Architect-Associate or Professional Certification
- Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure AWS solutions with a focus on cybersecurity.
- Experience with AWS security services like AWS identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Key Management (KMS), Security Hub, etc.
- Experience in AWS security frameworks, standards and compliance requirements relevant to cloud environments.
- Experience implementing and managing security measures, following best practices for data protection and compliance.
- Expertise in scripting and programming languages (e.g., JAVA, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
- Demonstrated understanding of IT infrastructure tools, processes and practices, including Cloud resource provisions, deployment, microservices, and DevOps
- Strong understanding of networking, security and compliance requirements in cloud.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience with working at HRSA or HHS agencies, highly desired
- Preference for experience with Cybersecurity in addition to Cloud architecture, as well as least one of these cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP or CCSP.

Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
