The Mission The Leidos National Security Sector uses a wide range of capabilities to support our customers’ mission to defend against evolving threats around the world. We are currently looking for an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to design instructionally sound, accurate, innovative, and engaging learning products.
The ISD will support the development and delivery of all client training courses, use multiple visualization and design techniques to development curriculum, and create web-based training and in-person learning in support of a prime contract for the IC environment. As a crucial member of our team, the ISD will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality instructional materials that enhance learning experiences across various platforms.The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of administrative capabilities, research acumen, document control proficiency, technical editing skills, and hands-on experience with Adobe Captivate software.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Coordinate project schedules, meetings, and deadlines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
Manage workflow processes and streamline procedures to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Conduct thorough research using the ADDIE model to support the ISD team on various curriculum topics.
Analyze learner’s needs, job tasks, and performance gaps to inform the design and development of effective instructional materials.
Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in instructional design to continuously enhance learning solutions.
Establish and maintain version control systems for all instructional materials, including manuals, guides, and training documents.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and organizational standards and branding guidelines compliance.
Implement document management strategies to facilitate easy access, retrieval, and distribution of instructional resources.
Edit and proofread instructional content for clarity, coherence, and adherence to instructional design principles.
Review scripts, storyboards, and multimedia elements to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning objectives.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to refine content and to incorporate feedback into the ISD process.
Utilize Adobe Captivate software to develop interactive eLearning modules, simulations, and multimedia presentations.
Design engaging learning experiences that leverage multimedia elements, such as audio, video, and animations, to enhance learner engagement and retention.
Troubleshoot technical issues and support Captivate users, including training sessions and resources.
Identify stock images for project support.
Possesses at least a Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
3 or more years of experience in Instructional Systems Design, with demonstrated proficiency in eLearning development.
Demonstrated expertise in using Adobe Captivate software to create interactive learning content.
Advanced proficiency in technical editing software, such as Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word's editing features.
Advanced proficiency in project management tools and techniques, such as Microsoft Project.
Strong research skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from diverse sources.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Knowledge of SCORM and other eLearning standards is a plus.
Requirements:
BA degree and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be exchanged for degree requirements.
TS/SCI with Polygraph level clearance is required

Pay Range:Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
