Leidos is looking to fill a Infrastructure Systems Engineer position to support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC). We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex infrastructure systems, including VMware, Linux, Microsoft servers, Microsoft domains, various storage systems, Microsoft databases, Nvidia GPUs, and Cisco networks. This role requires a deep understanding of these technologies to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Adaptability and thinking outside the box to meet complex customer requirement is key.
This is a 100% on-site position. All work must be performed at the customer site in Bethesda at the Intelligence Community Campus.
Primary Responsibilities
You will work closely with the Lead Systems Engineer, network engineers, and systems engineers on the following key tasks:
- Design, deploy, and manage VMware environments.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance.
- Upcoming tasks will involve future roadmaps as well as mapping out the merging of technologies
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtualization.
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
- Ensure system security, performance tuning, and backups.
- Automate tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Manage Microsoft Windows servers and Active Directory domains.
- Implement and maintain Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and other domain services.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
- Administer and optimize various storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS).
- Perform storage provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Install, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Perform routine database maintenance, backups, and recovery.
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Configure and manage Nvidia GPUs in server environments.
- Ensure proper integration with applications and systems requiring GPU resources.
- Monitor and optimize GPU performance.
- Design, deploy, and manage Cisco network infrastructure.
- Implement network security measures and monitor for vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
- Provide 3rd level support for all infrastructure-related issues.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Basic Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience, additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure systems engineering.
- Extensive experience with VMware, Linux, and Microsoft server environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, and domain services.
- Hands-on experience with various storage systems (SAN/NAS).
- Proficiency in managing Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Experience with Nvidia GPUs in a server context.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco network technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Certification Requirement
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP along with an appropriate computing environment (CE) certification)
Clearance Required
- Active/current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required OR active TS/SCI and willingness to get a Poly.
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP, RHCE, MCSE, CCNP) are highly desirable.
- Experience with Configuration Management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt) and IaC tools such as terraform
- Experience with scripting languages such bash, python3 and power shell
- Experience with CI/CD tools Jenkins, Nexus, Docker/container, gitlab/github
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Windows Systems Administration and troubleshooting Active Directory
- Experience establishing large computer end-point environments (> 1,000 end-points)
- Experience maintaining AI/ML environments (NVIDIA hardware and software)
- Experience maintaining large data (Petabyte) environments and storage solutions
- Experience working in an air-gapped/not-connected-to-the-internet environment
- Knowledge of IT security best practices and frameworks.

Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
