What you will do:
In this role you will be a part of a collaborative team that will help support the on-going needs of our robust client base. Most days you will be responding to customer requests for modifications, providing technical expertise for modifications and their application and quoting. Transacting ERP modification processes, providing direction to a Designer, providing design intent support to team members who are performing the modifications.
How you will do it:
Plan and implements design modifications to standard and configured commercial rooftop or split systems products to meet specific customer requests including defining the product development, activities, and milestones per project requirements.
Develops cost estimates based upon customer requests and specifications to support price quotation submittals. Controls expenditures within limitations of the specific modification.
Designs assigned products and/or parts in a timely and effective manner to ensure quality and cost objectives are met.
Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, and design documents.
Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project.
Analyzes and interprets internally tested and supplier-provided data to support equipment certifications and performance.
Performs accurate analysis of product performance to meet customer expectation and maintain product quality and reliability.
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, cost targets, and related specifications.
Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
What we look for:
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience with engineering design in the HVAC industry, preferrable commercial rooftop package equipment and split systems.
ERP navigation experience, preferably SAP
Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software.
Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
Committee membership in a professional organization a plus.
Self-starter with demonstrated skills to meet or exceed the objectives of time-bounded projects.
About the Manager:
I’ve been working in the HVAC industry for 30+ years. My experience includes Engineering Management, Operations Management, Product Development, Project/Program Management, Research and Development, Commercial Product Application, Intellectual Property, HVAC Systems Engineering, and Custom HVAC Solutions.
My professional interests revolve mainly around Custom Engineering HVAC Solutions along with corresponding research and development realizing intellectual property that provides custom modification solutions to customers.
If you consider this role, we will work together to deliver an optimized solution to a variety of specific custom modifications to support customer requirements to win jobs.
Expect to be challenged in this role to learn new tools and systems, tackle complicated projects, make engineering judgements in the face of uncertainty, and conduct exploratory analysis to evaluate system performance. As a leader, I’m focused on continuous learning and development – both building our own engineering skillsets, but also improving our processes and products.
