What you will do:
A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert. You will alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a fire system. You will advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections.This Technician will be set up with all of the tools and equipment needed to work independently.
How you will do it:
Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring
Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation
Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs
Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies Responsible for the service and repair of commercial Fire Alarm systems
What we look for:
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience with Fire Alarm systems
S-98 license (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm Systems Inspection, Testing and Service Technician)
Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices
Experience inspecting, repairing, and programming fire alarm panels and fire suppression systems Computer literate
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
Overnight travel may be required
Demonstrate a high level of customer service
Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test
Retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes
Preferred
2+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems preferred
NICET certification a plus.
Pay Range: $39-$42 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
