We are seeking a Security Systems Designer to join our federal team supporting the National Security Campus in Kansas City, MO.

Pay range: $55,000 - $67,000. Negotiable based on experience.Â
Shift: First Shift, 7:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday  Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employmentVacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)Travel Required: None, all work is based at this location

As a Systems Designer, you will:
- Performs hardware designs for flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts and electrical schematics as required
- Performs software programming using established standards as a basis of design or custom as required
- Coordinates the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation
- Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinates processes to meet factory and project schedule
- Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation
- Gathers field changes from the project team and creates as-built drawings and software. Prepares proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation
- Keeps management and customer informed of job progress and issues
- Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total system
- Completes paperwork including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation
- Adheres to safety standards, local and national codes. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience with installation and/or commissioning of controls systems including system-level controllers.Â
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial or industrial security and fire systems, electrical, and control systems.
- Advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools, Fiber, and Network layouts.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience working with SoftwareHouse Ccure 9000 software and hardware
- Experience with system design or development of commercial electronic security and/or fire projects (i.e. flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, electrical schematics) and software applications.

Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, a vocational school four year program certificate, or an Associateâs Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Computer Technology, Systems Engineering, or a similar field
