What you will do:
- Dive into the world of Fire and Security Engineering, you will be servicing, commissioning, and maintaining fire and security systems that safeguard individuals, homes, and properties.
- Learn the ins and outs of our fire and security systems including intrusion detection, CCTV and access control systems.
- On-the-Job Work Experience: You'll spend significant time at our client sites, where you'll be tasked with servicing and repairing fire and security equipment. This hands-on experience will provide you with valuable insight into the world of fire and security engineering.
- Collaboration with Qualified Engineers: Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll work closely with qualified Johnson Controls Engineers who will serve as mentors, guiding you in developing your engineering skills. This collaborative environment ensures that you receive the support and guidance needed to succeed in your role
- This is a field-based position covering the Devon & Cornwall areas.
- Hit the road with your own company van, traveling daily to client premises.

- On-the-job training will be provided working closely with our experienced Fire & Security engineers, many of these engineers have also been through our apprenticeship scheme so they are the perfect mentors to guide you through the apprenticeship.

Training and Qualifications:
- College Attendance: You'll attend college in Banham academy on block release basis, this structured education component will complement your on-the-job training, providing you with comprehensive knowledge of Fire and Security Engineering.
- Travel and Accommodation: If you're required to stay away from home for college or work-related purposes, the company will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and meals. This ensures that you can focus on your education and training without financial burden.
Career Progression:
- Upon completion, several internal opportunities within the company will be available to you. All of our apprentices immediately move into full time permanent engineering positions.
- Previous apprentices have become lead engineers, managing their own teams and projects.
Qualifications Required:
- GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade 5)
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths (Grade 5)
- Full Driving License is essential.

What happens next?
- Suitable candidates will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position and provide necessary documentation. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre in May, assessment centres typically include a combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, and presentations.
- Within 48 hours of the assessment centre, candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can begin the apprenticeship on September 2, 2024.
