Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train shipping and receiving staff.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Shipping and Receiving Operations:
- Oversee the receipt of incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of contents and quality of products.
- Coordinate the inspection, sorting, and storage of received materials or products.
- Prepare shipping documents, including packing lists and bills of lading.
- Ensure accurate and efficient order picking, packing, and labeling for outbound shipments.
- Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and logistics partners.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder materials or products as needed.
Quality and Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety regulations and guidelines in the shipping and receiving department.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Implement quality control measures to prevent shipping errors and damages.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with other departments and team members.
- Report any issues, delays, or discrepancies to management.
- Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to address customer inquiries and special requests.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Implement best practices to optimize shipping and receiving procedures.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on industry trends and technology.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or coursework in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, with at least [X] years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management software and shipping software.
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards in warehouse operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
