IntroductionAs an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Data Architect is responsible for managing data stream activities within a SAP implementation project to ensure data in our clients SAP environments is consistent, organized, accurate and trustworthy. This position requires strong knowledge in SAP products such as SAP Data Services, SAP MDG as well as strong project management and communication skills. The successful candidate will bring relevant industry experience and will have had exposure to other ETL tools such as IBM Infosphere, Cloud Pak Informatica and TalenD would be a plus.Responsibilities include:• Conduct explore workshops to identify & finalize data migration / MDG requirements.• Identify the key technical / business gaps and provide innovative solutions to address them in a timely manner.• Develop data migration plans, manage deadlines and co-ordinate data team activities within project time lines• Provide techno/functional direction to develop data management framework for key activities such as extraction, cleansing, migration, data quality and validation.• Estimate the efforts and identify project skill and resource requirements and work with PMO to manage deliverables on time & budget• Develop functional / technical specification documents and design best in class technical solution to support data management activities• Support unit testing, SIT, UAT and performance testing activities for SAP implementation• Collaborate with the cross-functional team to develop integrated data strategy to support business processes, executing project deliverables, with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency• Develop cut-over strategy for data migration activities for Go-live.• Monitor and provide data migration status and road map to PMO and stakeholdersRequired Technical and Professional Expertise Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience required in managing SAP Data migrations from complex legacy systems to SAP for various industry sectors• Deep technical understanding of one or more SAP software tools such as Data Services, Information Steward, SLT, TDMS, SAP MDG and GDS.• Strong business process & SAP technical knowledge augmented with data acumen.• Experience with financial, order to cash, materials management or HR data• Ability to work closely with process owners and other key stakeholders• Strong oral and written communication skills• Working knowledge of SAP implementation activities from Preparation, Design/Blueprint, Build/Realization, Final Prep/Testing/Cutover, Go-live and Support to Sustainment.• English and local language: FluentMinimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline.Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseCertified in one or more SAP data or analytics related modulesAbout Business UnitIBM Consulting is IBM’s consulting and global professional services business, with market leading capabilities in business and technology transformation.
