The Customer Service Representative role is based in Katy, TX and reports directly to the Logistics Director.
This is a great opportunity to be a key player in our customer service department. This position is responsible for all aspects of customer service; receiving and processing orders, direct communication with our customers, follow up and problem solve orders when necessary, and provide efficient and professional service to our customers.
What you’ll get to do
- Receive & process all customer orders timely and efficiently.
- Respond to customer issues in a positive and timely manner and, when necessary, direct the customer to the appropriate respondent.
- Answer incoming telephone calls to the Customer Service center in a positive and professional manner.
- Communicate order confirmations & completion status to customers.
- Data entry of all customer and job information into JWS.
- Interface with customers, truck drivers, Sales, & Plant personnel.
- Coordinate and maintain product order delivery of shipments with approved freight carriers through Heidelberg Materials distribution network to ensure maximum accuracy, cost effectiveness, and efficiency of product deliveries.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding product offerings throughout Hanson Aggregates.
- Provide after-hours support when necessary, including weekends, Holidays, and during inclement weather. Work from home or at another Lehigh facility during inclement weather.
- Follow all applicable safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills; Specifically, telephone skills.
- Bilingual Spanish essential.
- PC skills and knowledge of Windows based programs essential.
- JWS.
- S.A.P. skills and knowledge essential.
- Experience in sales or inside sales environment a plus.
- Product knowledge in aggregate industry helpful.
- Experience in a high pressure, fast paced team environment.
- Customer Service concepts.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%).
- High School education or equivalent.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Education, trainings, or certifications beyond high school.
- Product knowledge in construction materials.
Work Environment
- Role operates primarily a professional office environment but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
