This position is located at the Evansville Plant in Fleetwood and reports directly to the Plant Manager.

What you’ll get to do

• Manage all aspects of the plant purchasing and storehouse
• Direct commercial aspects of the Alternative Fuels/Materials program
• Oversee capital purchases
• Process requisitions from plant management personnel and place orders with outside vendors
• Perform the duties of the SAP key user for the Purchasing Department
• Locate vendors, negotiate prices, and determine delivery schedules
• Lead ongoing cost reductions efforts for purchased plant materials
• Collaborate with Corporate Purchasing on corporate purchasing initiatives
• Collaborate with Corporate Land Manager to oversee and manage plant-owned properties
• Supervise purchasing employees

Essential Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or relevant discipline
• At least 7 years of experience in purchasing
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Proven negotiating skills
• Vendor management experience
• Strong communication skills
• Proven cost containment/reduction experience

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Purchasing Management certification through PMAC, APS, or ISM
• SAP

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily a professional office environment but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
