This is a great opportunity for someone looking to supervise a maintenance crew with an industry leader in the cement manufacturing industry. The cement plant in Union Bridge, MD is looking for someone who is hardworking and dedicated to becoming a part of our team.
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, the Process Control Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision and support to the Operating, Maintenance and Contractor shift personnel to achieve the goals of the production departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and directs Process Utility and Central Control Room shift personnel.
- Ensures production and quality requirements are met or exceeded in compliance with all governmental and company mandated rules and regulations.
- Supervises the operation of the entire plant in the field and by using a sophisticated and computerized process control system.
- Responsible for on-line process, quality and equipment failure analysis.
- Ensures timely call-out of maintenance personnel. Generates work order requests and participates in weekly maintenance/process planning meetings.
- Supervises equipment outage remedial work.
- Prepares operating shift logs.
- Interfaces with plant technical support groups on operational matters.
- Administers the collective bargaining agreement, and controls absenteeism and overtime.
- Ensures a safe work environment with no lost time accidents.
- Follows existing work schedule and performs project work and vacation relief on rotation assignments.
- Facilitates scheduled departmental and safety meetings.
- Supervises daily shift changeover meetings between Central Control Room Operators (CCO’s) and Process Utility Personnel (PUP’s).
- Must be flexible with hours available to work including nights, weekends, & holidays.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 years cement plant operating experience; preferably a college degree, in Engineering or Sciences.
- Must be able to supervise and troubleshoot all different kinds of technical, operational, quality, and environmental problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and interact as a team member.
- Good supervisory, leadership and motivational skills.
- Working knowledge and technical understanding of:-cement manufacturing process and its equipment.
- -process control system.
- Understanding of chemistry of raw mix, clinker and cement.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient with window-based PC software programs, and understand the SAP maintenance and inventory computer programs.
- Ability to make timely and critical decisions - able to work under conditions of stress and deal with a multitude of tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Total Quality Management with the ability to work in a Total Quality environment
