Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Logansport, IN.

What You’ll Get to Do:
- Maintain strong professional relationships with employees and cooperation with Federal, State and Municipal agencies, as well as the Corporate Human Resources Shared Services organization
- Provide assistance to the HR Manager
- Provide guidance on policies including interpretation and progressive discipline
- Provide various reports to management team for performance metrics.
- Assist with annual benefits enrollment, salary increases, and other personnel change topics
- Partner with Management to systematically develop the capability of their salaried and hourly staffs, as well as assist in the individual development of potential succession candidates for key roles
- Ensure company and leader compliance with federal and state employment law, as well as Company policies and standard operating procedures
- Maintain personnel files and generate required people related reports
- Coach and counsel both salaried and hourly employees to enhance engagement, retention, and productivity, and mitigate financial and operational risk
- Able to develop presentations and speak in front of groups
- Aids public relations in establishing a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation for the company.
- Attends local professional meetings and membership development meetings as needed.
- Identifies and tracks staffing needs of business and works proactively to fill them via internal and external hiring, succession planning, and retention practices and assist with recruitment and orientation programs
- Manages the hiring process including creation of job descriptions, recruiting, behavioral interviewing, selection of candidates, preparation of offers of employment and conduct new hire orientations
- Provide general administrative duties associated to HR along with providing various HR support to staff
Who We Are Looking For:
- At least 5+ years of HR experience supporting operations
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated use and knowledge of HR systems
- Extensive experience and proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
- Workday experience
- Kronos experience
- Exceptional communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, fast paced, able to work independently and multi-task
- Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels
- Maintain the highest level of courtesy, professionalism, and organization
