Heidelberg Materials is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to join our team in McCook, IL.

What You'll Get To Do
- Participate as a key member of the management team
- Participate in the development of the mine plan for the operation
- Assist with developing and managing the annual operating budget
- Participate in representing the Company in the local community
- Direct the onsite team of salary/hourly staff to safely accomplish the Company’s business objectives
- Build a culture of continuous improvement and pursue improvements in operational efficiencies
- Develop hourly & salary talent through regular coaching and feedback
- Proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance
- Manage a solid maintenance program to ensure that all assets are well maintained, ensuring that critical spares are available while minimizing inventory cost
- Collaborate cross-functionally with safety, environment, sales, QC, labor relations, HR, and other departments to accomplish key business objectives
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree
- 5 or more years of crushed stone or sand experience
- Underground Mining a plus
- Experience interfacing with external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, community organizations, or local chamber of commerce
- In depth knowledge of aggregates production and associated equipment and processes
- At least 4 years of aggregates industry, or closely related industry experience
- Computer and systems literate, including competency with Microsoft Office
- Analytical, data focused, and metrics driven with strong project management experience
- Proven commitment to team success and the grit to successfully work through challenges and achieve objectives
- Excellent leadership, communication, time management, and organizational influence skills
- Strong track record of leading safety and health, as well as regulatory compliance
- Passion and interest in becoming a Plant Manager
