As the Senior Director, Warehousing Solutions you will be responsible for leading pursuit teams in the development of complex customer solutions to secure new and incremental revenue for the company. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Review customer requests to identify the true needs of the customer
- Document the opportunity to provide a clear description of the customer request and define the GXO response to the customer’s needs
- Lead the team in the creation of the right solution components, value propositions and work products
- Help define the pricing strategy for the opportunity
- Create compelling presentations and value propositions for the customer; present the solution components to customer decision-makers and executives to position GXO as the preferred choice
- Promote "game-changing" thinking and continuously generate new ideas to improve processes, service, efficiency, quality, and cost
- Work closely with the Account Management, Operations and Design Engineering teams to get a solid understanding of the client's business and to drive a collaborative design process
- Partner with Sales, Account Management and Finance on RFP response processes, from review to scope discovery to solution design, delivery and conclusion
- Develop strategies that address the client's pain points and meet or exceed their commercial expectations
- Manage, coach and develop a team that supports solutions, project management and operations initiatives
- Review and benchmark the solutions model, ensuring all elements of the cost structure accurately represent the design and process paths proposed, and that the operating parameters that drive the scope of the solution are correct and applicable to the industry
- Strive for and drive consistent, best practice driven standards, processes, templates in accordance with generally accepted project management principles
- Drive world-class performance project team design and delivery. Ensure all project management and controls are in place, documented, and meet audit and compliance standards
- Own the project plan for complex, broad scope initiatives and manage all activities in the project life cycle including initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing
- Serve as a bridge between our Operations and Technology teams and the Customer’s corporate Operations and Technology teams to maintain alignment on enhancement projects, change initiatives, operational support programming and help mitigate impact to productivity
- Facilitate technical meetings and presentations demonstrating a highly professional and effective communication style
- Stay current on customer’s business strategy, trends and supply chain industry trends and communicate to key stakeholders in the organization
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 7 years of experience and progressive career advancement in the supply chain industry
- Availability to travel up to 25% of the time with occasional extended periods of up to 2 weeks for specific projects
It’d be great if you also have:
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution or manufacturing industries, with specific expertise in operational layout and material flow in distribution center environments
- Track record of success in designing solutions and network optimization in a supply chain environment
- Experience leading and developing individual talent and building high-performing project teams
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to interact well with all levels of the organization and external customers, up to and including C-suite
- Experience using and implementing Lean methodology principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Expert knowledge with Project Management methodologies and tools
- Superior interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Power Point
- PMP certification, ERP, WMS, Financial and/or Account Management experience
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain industry best practices
