JOB SUMMARY
Coordinates and supports Northeast Driver Hiring through on-site recruitment/coordination/scheduling of training and direct assistance. Owns the hiring process from application through new hire review, including support for driver training. Helps reduce driver turnover by ensuring new drivers are trained, supported, and engaged. Provides effective support of area and local Driver Operations and Safety leaders where needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide on-site driver hiring support as needed in hiring locations in their Driver Operations Areas, including conducting interviews with driver applicants and training hiring managers in best practices. Take ownership of hiring goals in their territory.
- Work closely with Driver Recruiters to maintain momentum toward hiring goals throughout the application and qualification processes.
- Oversee On-the-Job training for driver trainees in their area. Handle issues that arise with driver trainee getting their CDLs or plugging on time
- Coordinate the 30/60/90-day new hire driver performance review program for all new drivers in their territory. Conduct reviews as needed.
- Works with corporate and field management to recruit and hire quality driver candidates at reasonable cost. Oversees online training for driver applicants.
- Assist Area Driver Managers and Supervisors, Driver Operations and Safety as needed toward improving driver retention, including skill building, driver engagement, problem-solving, labor relations, and ride-along.
- Champion the safety initiatives for drivers, particularly Be Safe, Backsafe, and ADA.
- Assist Training and Development with other tasks and projects as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Business or Transportation

- Motorcoach driving (a plus)
