Position Overview:
The Data Analyst role drives enterprise information initiatives throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle. The role is responsible for working with business subject matter experts to complete data discovery documents, design integrations into target data structures/applications, create data transformation and enrichment. All deliverables are documented in use cases and data dictionaries. The Data Analyst understands the ETL development process. The role is also responsible for development of custom code/scripts to map, extract, and triage data across domains/data types. The individual will have a highly effective ability to communicate with end users in a manufacturing setting. The individual must be able to understand business processes, how they connect and translate them into IT system data requirements.
This is an in-person role located out of the Green Bay, WI office.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to develop processes that satisfy customer data requirements.
- Support development of data models, including physical and logical models.
- Intuitively follow the data development lifecycle including data quality assessments, measurements, reporting, analysis, design, and testing/evaluations.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production data analytics processes.
- Understand Microsoft SQL databases and participate in analysis, design, development, maintenance, and back-end support of SQL Databases and ETL methods.
- Understand ETL jobs & processes including tracing files from source to target, analyzing, and debugging issues.
- Understand data structures using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or Azure Data Factory.
- Demonstrate initiative to learn more about analytics and business intelligence technologies.
- Work closely with other client-facing IT teams.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a data science related field and 4+ years of IT career experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of career experience designing and developing data driven solutions including SQL database design and Microsoft SQL server.
- Experience with the Microsoft BI Platform is preferred.
- Hands on experience with databases and visualization tools such as Microsoft SQL, SSIS or Power BI.
- Thorough understanding of database structures, design, and reporting techniques.
- Fluent in technical tools, such as SQL, spreadsheets, statistical programming languages (R or Python), and data visualization
- Ability to gather requirements and utilize them to develop, recommend and implement reporting solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills that allow for the successful handling of multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Experience operating in an agile project management IT environment.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing industry is preferred. Pulp and paper industry is a plus.
