Seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to facilitate environmental compliance programs and operational excellence actions. The Environmental Engineer is part of a corporate team that collaboratively works across more than 40 plants in 16 states and will require some travel.
Responsibilities
- Advance Water Stewardship Initiatives: Coordinate and lead water subject area expertise, water stewardship initiatives and company-wide measure and metrics for water reporting. Maintain water inventory records, monitor wastewater permits, review treatment unit installations, and develop water chemistry knowledge for relevant regulation impact and applicability.
- Environmental Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance records, plans, and reports. Ensure applicable environmental regulatory permits are maintained.
- Chemical Management Oversight: Facilitate SARA Program reporting, review site chemical inventories, and advise on chemical inventory requirements and threshold reporting.
- Sustainability Programs: Maintain technical data for on-going sustainability and environmental programs, reporting for Ecovadis and CDP Water Security.
- Training and Development: Conduct training and develop training materials to comply with environmental regulations, communicate sustainability performance and general awareness training.
- Regulatory Compliance: Complete records and reporting for compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations for environmental programs.
- Internal Auditing: Coordinate and participate in internal auditing of environmental and divisional programs.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in system with strategic objectives for best fit.
- Project Management: Manage environmental technical projects, with program accountability and understanding for all levels of stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: B.S. Engineering, Environmental Science, technical degree; 3-10 years experience preferred.
- Environmental Regulations Knowledge: Comprehension on implementation of environmental regulations (CWA, NPDES & SARA), preferred.
- Communication Skills: Superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to efficiently deliver and reinforce consistent messages at all levels within and outside of the organization.
- Data Management: Ability to interpret, organize, and report data with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team Collaboration: Strong team player who can effectively build relationships, culture and work well with others to meet objectives.
- Problem Solving: Engaging others in collaborative problem solving; asking questions to understand.
- Active Listening: Strong problem solving and active listening skills that allow for understanding perspectives and end user needs.
