Job Summary
As a Sr. Coordinator, Merchandising you will be critical to the efficient operation of your merchandising department. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in all data inputs and outputs across numerous systems and processes. You will become an expert in Giant Eagle’s merchandising systems and will suggest process and system improvements to enhance our accuracy and improve impact on downstream partners and customers. You will clearly communicate all critical activities in your department. You are responsible for accurate, timely invoicing of funding for your department and are critical to ensuring and protecting our profitability.
Job Description
- Experience Required: 1 to 3 years
- Experience Desired: Working in retail stores, a data entry or data integrity role, or familiarity with software and systems used at Giant Eagle
- Experience Required: MS Office Suite, specifically excel
- Education Desired: Bachelors Degree
- Experienced Required: Must be highly attentive to details and focused on accuracy and integrity of data
- Excellent follow up and follow through skills
- Ability to build relationships and work in a collaborative environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Problem Pricing inquiries and specific retail or customer questions. Research and identify root cause and correct (or form a recommendation for correction) the core issue and ensure resolution. Communicate resolution to the reporter and any other internal or external parties impacted by the error or resolution.
- Develop and own wholesale income budget for designated department. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of billing against income-driving actions, tracking and reporting out on impact to each wholesale income account.
- Complete and ensure accuracy of data in all store distribution planning files, including weekly MC&E file, ad hoc files (ex: “million unit” file), and seasonal planning document. Provide all relevant information to distribution team and ensure that surveys are complete as per Merchant expectations.
- Request vendor deals for planned weekly and seasonal promotions, track long term deals and request extensions where applicable, and authorize/ensure accuracy of information on all deals on a weekly basis.
- Draft, proof, and send critical communications to our retail team members, including seasonal plans, updates to high-impact issues, and important action items. Field and respond to any questions or feedback on these communications.
- Enter and ensure accuracy of data pertaining to one-time and recurring cost adjustments, retail price adjustments, new vendor setup, and new item setup. Communicate and confirm changes to all affected parties (Category Merchants, Buyers, Retail TMs, etc.)
- Review and resolve issues showing up in our invoice reconciliation system. Research each to determine root cause, report, and correct any problems that triggered the discrepancy.
- Generate and track all manual invoicing for your department. Review and resolve any vendor disputes associated with both manual and automated invoices, examine each for root cause and correct and report the solution and recommended resolution.
- Create sign and circular layouts, enter and ensure accuracy of all data on both. Ensure that layouts reflect intended communication of offer and value, and adhere to Giant Eagle advertising standards. Ensure that promo tag types are entered properly and align with intended promotion.
- Own the proofing process for circulars, signs, and price tags. Ensure zero defects for all, and communicate clearly and potential points of confusion to both support teams and retail team members. In the event of a printed discrepancy, work with internal support and retail team members to immediately issue a correction ensuring minimized disruption to our customers.
- Support the management of assigned low to medium volume categories to achieve annual financial goals including sales objectives, retail and wholesale gross margin, wholesale income, shrink, known loss, inventory turns and service level, making strategic and tactical adjustments as necessary.
- Support category, marketing and vendor teams (and manage low volume) on planning and execution of category strategy, product assortment, ad plans, displays, pricing and promotion strategy to meet the Company's margin and revenue goals.
- Maintain plans and reporting tools needed to manage assigned category, including monitoring, tracking, development and distribution of results.
