GDIT has an immediate Field Service Technician opportunity at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Qualified candidates must possess a secret clearance.HOW A FIELD TECHNICIAN III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:• Employing systems engineering management expertise in fault management, configuration management, performance management, and security management.• Responsible for coordinating with local network authority to ensure assignedC5ISR Families of Systems are in compliance with local security policy andconfiguration standards.• Assists Information Assurance staff with all documentation required foraccreditation and any other associated directives and regulations.• Responsible for managing and monitoring all installed systems andinfrastructure.• Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operatingsystems, application software, and system management tools.• Ensures the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.• Able to Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks,identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.• Responsible for Maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies.• Writes and maintains custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce human intervention time on tasks.• May participate in the design of information and operational supportsystems.WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Must have Microsoft Windows/Linux/VMWare server and client software, patching, upgrading, and maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of client and server software interaction.
- Understanding of networking principles and system network configuration. Must be capable of performing analyses of system operations.
- Must have knowledge of and experience in hardware systems and components operations.
- Must have experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of software and hardware on supported systems and individual components.
- Must be capable of routine system maintenance and analysis functions, including hardware configurations, adding, removing, and replacing hardware components.
- Capable of providing C5ISR and Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) training; experience in the preparation and conduct of military training doctrine (e.g., preparation of Programs of Instruction (POI), Lesson Plans); Provides basic systems maintenance and sustainment training for the following system, Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS).
- Education: Associates of Arts/Associates of Science and 3 years of additional work experience.
- Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience in lieu of degree
- Required Technical Skills: System administrator.
- Security Clearance Level: Secret Clearance
- Certification required: Security + CE.
- Military experience is desirable.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
