Role Summary: In this role, Quality Technician shall analyze site Key Performance Indicators and develop solutions with cross functional teams to improve and sustain overall performance. Maintain standards and compliance with business and industry standards. Facilitate effective root cause analysis across functional groups, drive corrective actions, and hold functional teams accountable for process improvement. Role may also require flexibility to support daily Quality functions and day-to-day issues with production quality within the manufacturing plant, at customer sites, and supplier facilities. In addition, you may be responsible for post shipment support and resolution of customer equipment complaints. Collaborate with Project Management and Engineering to resolve complaints as assigned. On occasion, travel to jobsite to participate in inspection, collection of data, and prepare site report as required.
Responsibilities:
- Verify standards and processes set by the company are followed by performing audits.
- Perform in process inspections during all stages of production.
- Identify ways to improve existing processes and system to improve overall quality and consistency throughout the lifecycle process.
- Collect daily, weekly/monthly First Pass Yield (FPY) and defect data for Quality Reports.
- Actively participate in all activities leading to process improvement.
- Assist with analysis of product portfolio KPIs and drive effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain and analyze data to provide information or identify problems for management and stakeholders on the state of a process or product quality.
- Create awareness in the Leadership community regarding what opportunities have been discovered or developed and how to realize them.
- Collaborate with functional teams to ensure customer order and product requirements are met.
- Clarify/resolve issues techniques related to QC activities.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers effectively.
- Process customer complaints as assigned.
- Find, develop, and implement technical solutions for customer equipment issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience in quality control department, calibration system, and use of common inspection instruments.
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and/or 5+ years quality experience
- Organized and efficient with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to reprioritize daily while still producing deliverables.
- Understanding of product / process flow.
- Experience in engineering and utilization of Lean tools and methodologies.
- Worked in Industrial equipment and manufacturing.
- Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice, as needed to customer jobsite.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands on experience and sound knowledge of industrial rotating equipment.
