This specific role would help entrepreneurs of early and mid-stage startups with a mix of banking services, advice and valuable introductions.
The VP on the Relationship Banking team is responsible for acquiring and managing a portfolio of early-stage, pre-Series A clients including: business development, client onboarding, tracking and resolving portfolio credit/regulatory inquiries, managing relationships with startup founders, cross-selling bank products and services, managing risk and compliance issues, and coordinating with cross-functional SVB teams. This role supports the broader relationship and product teams, including collaboration across SVB teams representing commercial banking, credit cards, letters of credit, foreign exchange, treasury management, and private banking, with the goal of orchestrating a superior client experience and maximizing support of client relationships.
Responsibilities:The VP should approach each client engagement, electronic or live, as an opportunity to advise clients and to improve their business standing through that advice. We strive to establish ourselves as trusted advisors more than ‘bankers’. The VP will engage and build relationships with key client stakeholders to remain well-informed of industry developments and able to respond to changing circumstances while appropriately balancing client and SVB needs.
Qualifications:High School or GED plus 6-8 years of Relationship Management experience OR Bachelor’s degree plus 2-4 years of Relationship Management experience.
