Patient Diagnosis: Critically ill medical/surgical patients including but not limited to: sepsis, cardiac arrest, renal failure, cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, alcohol/drug overdose and withdrawal, post-op surgical care, gastrointestinal bleeding, end of life/comfort care, and COVID-19 complications.
Unit Details: Our ICU is a split unit, totaling 12 ICU beds. Our original ICU is 6 beds, located on the 2nd floor. During COVID-19 surge, ICU took over a short stay unit permanently. So we now have an additional 6 ICU beds on the 1st floor. We try to keep the higher acuity upstairs, where we staff 3 nurses (1:2 ratio); and the lower acuity patients downstairs, where we staff 2 nurses + 1 PCT (1:3 ratio).

Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
Certifications Required: ACLS, BCLS
Certifications Preferred: NIH, CCRN
Weekend shifts: 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
Floating: yes, within skillset
Special Equipment: Ventilators, BiPAP, IV pumps, feeding pumps, Hover mats, Sara Steady lifts, ceiling lift
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
RTO: MAX 7 days, Blocked Scheduling is Not Guaranteed
HOLIDAYS:
If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
