Performs radiologic procedures and serves as supervisor in a designated market or geographical area.
What You'll Do:
Supervisory and Administrative Responsibilities
- Develops the staff schedule for all technologists in the designated areas/states.
- Oversees the portable x-ray technologists' performance in the area/market according to company policies, procedures, protocols and expectations.
- Provides general supervision and guidance to direct reports. Be reasonably available and accessible to direct reports outside of his/her own scheduled shifts.
- Performs general guidance for x-ray technologists in the region, including coaching, counseling, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, addressing quality and performance issues, appraising, and recommending improvements.
- Assists with hiring and training of x-ray technologists in the market, including interviewing, training, and orientation of new staff.
- Processes bi-weekly time sheets for direct reports and reviews and approves PTO requests in the market.
- Conducts annual and periodic performance reviews for x-ray technologists in the market according to company policies.
- Serves as a local market/area contact for the coordination of equipment maintenance and repairs, vehicle management, and supplies.
- Meet performance goals and metrics established for the market.
- Participates in management meetings, leadership development training and other company events.
- Serves as an account contact for clients in the market and supports new business development and marketing activities in the market as directed.
- Responds to client and patient questions, concerns and complaint tickets in the market,
- Participates as a standing member of the company compliance team and assists with state and federal surveys, including preparation of survey documents, uploading compliance documents into survey preparedness folders on a regular basis, and participates before and during state and federal surveys and inspections.
- Serve as a local Radiation Safety Officer (R.S.O.) in the designated areas/states with tasks to maintain compliance with Company, State and Federal radiation safety procedures and protocols, including, but not limited to managing periodic dosimeter distributions and collections, performing annual protective lead and shielding integrity testing, image reject reporting, ensuring that x-ray equipment is regular tested, calibrated, serviced, and maintained, ensuring that all x-ray generators are registered with the state at all times, ensuring that the list of x-ray equipment is kept up to date, and other related tasks as assigned.
- Performs other related supervisory and administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
- Works actively to maintain communication and involvement of the supervising physician.

X-Ray Technologist Responsibilities
- Travel by automobile as directed to perform portable x-rays and EKG exams in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, correctional institutions, residential homes, and other patient locations.
- Follow all company policies, procedures and protocols while performing diagnostic imaging exams.
- Collect and verify all required order documentation and patient information prior to procedures.
- Prepare & position patient for diagnostic imaging exams.
- Operate portable radiologic equipment at patient's bedside or other designated exam settings.
- Determine exposure factors based on height, weight, portion of body involved and degree on penetration required.
- Demonstrate safe work practices appropriate to position; including safe driving, radiation safety and ALARA principles, infection control, use of appropriate personal protective equipment; safe operation of x-ray generators and associated equipment, vehicle loading/unloading of x-ray equipment, safely moving portable x-ray units during patient visits, and other activities associated with performing the responsibilities as a portable x-ray technologist. Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
- Process images and review images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission.
- Transmit images and all required associated documentation in a timely manner according to company protocols.
- Complete all forms and maintain records, visit logs, and reports of work performed according to standard protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment; assist with troubleshooting and problem solving of equipment and systems as directed by Company management or Service Department personnel.
What You Need:
- Meet all state-specific and federal requirements to perform portable x-rays, including one or more of the following:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R)
- Limited Scope X-ray Operator — in accordance with State-specific requirements
- State x-ray license (if applicable)
- Has a valid state-issued driver’s license and maintains a good driving record.
- Passes required background check(s).
- Demonstrates leadership abilities.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Must demonstrate proficient computer skills to perform required duties.
- Acts professionally, exhibits a friendly, caring and positive attitude when interacting with management, employees, patients, patient's family, nurses, providers, client staff and other stakeholders.
- Is reliable, dependable, and ethical.
- Able to maintain a flexible schedule to meet supervisory responsibilities
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easily
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
