The Engineering Support Specialist II within the TPS Planning/Engineering Management Office organization enables processes and activities that ensure projects are initiated quickly, accurately, and available to execution teams before or when work starts.Provides administrative, transactional, coordination and other general support services for various Engineering programs and projects and related teams and initiatives. Coordinates, monitors, and expedites the flow of documents within Engineering and between Engineering and other internal teams and/or external service providers, customers, and partners. Helps with project planning and scheduling, performs document control and records management, and assists with asset management, budget / expense tracking and other duties.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the project initiation activities of capital projects, ensuring all project deliverables are completed to specifications.
- Develops, maintains, and accurately tracks and monitors status of projects and budgets at the project initiation/allocate lifecycle on a regular basis.
- Ensures adherence to established administrative and operational procedures by monitoring project initiation of POI to POR activities, documenting and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring established deadlines are met.
- Researches and reconciles POI to POR project initiation discrepancies with documentation received from requestors, makes recommendations for process corrections as necessary, and communicate status and final outcomes to all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensures requests are in compliance with market and company operating standards.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for Oracle Project Accounting (PA) administration and other project administration tools currently utilized by the Engineering Management Office organization (i.e. EPS, Sitetracker, etc.).
- Educates team and leadership to understand technology processes and procedures for capital planning and execution.
- Working knowledge of Internal/Purchase order requisition (material and labor) and receipt, placement of Assets into service and various financial tasks like CIP, RNV, reclasses, cancelled projects and project closure exercise to assist in research and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with program and project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to confirm completion of project initiation of POI to POR activities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence as required.
- Communicates effectively, builds, and maintains professional internal and external working relationships.
- Interfaces with stakeholders across the enterprise to obtain feedback, set timelines, and execute requirements to meet or exceed deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience; or 5 years' experience in a related field
- Experience in Oracle and knowledge of Engineering and Operational functions.
- 1+ years' experience working with project and program financial planning, project/program management, process improvement and analysis skills.
- Advanced knowledge in all Oracle/MS Office/Sharepoint and proficient in multiple applications/tools.
- Willingness and ability to effectively partner with teams throughout the organization.
Preferred:
- BA/BS or associate degree in a related field (i.e. engineering, finance, business, etc.).
- 2 years of experience working with project lifecycles and procurement support activities.
- Experience working in communications industry with a focus on telecommunications, data, cable, and project management.
- Demonstrated interpretation of capital expenditures and operating expenses, including forecasting and budgeting strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and collaborative skills.
USD 23.17 - 34.81 per hour
Compensation:Hourly base pay rate is $23.17 - $34.81/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
