Cox Communications is currently looking for a
Systems Administration Manager to join our team. As a member of the Business Support Systems (BSS) team within the Enterprise Development and Operations (ED&O) organization, this individual will lead a team of QA Analysts, directing all testing related activities and deliverables, adhering to testing and test tool standards and best practices. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that QA analysts document and execute on comprehensive, risk-based, test strategies and mitigate risk. The Systems Administration Manager understands the business/project needs and collaborates with Development, Business Analysts, and Design teams to ensure that application code meets the documented requirements and functions as expected. The Systems Administration Manager ensures all functional and non-functional testing are complete as scheduled and coordinates with Release Management teams to move fully tested application code to production.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership and direction to team of QA professionals, consisting of contract resources, both onsite and remote.
- Create and maintain a collaborative work environment of integrity and commitment, with focus on proactively responding with dependable, flexible, and innovative technology solutions.
- Lead a team of QA Analysts responsible for testing vendor and internally developed code for ICOMS, NRM, IAC and future applications in BSS.
- Understand ICOMS, IAC and NRM functionality and understand dependencies across the code base, ensuring developers and sponsors are involved collaboratively with testing strategy.
- Recruit and hire exceptional talent and facilitate onboarding of new team members.
- Coach and mentor team members on career growth.
- Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for the team and its members.
- Manage documentation and facilitate test deliverables, including Test Strategy and Test Plan documents, Test Cases, Defects, and Test Status reports.
- Ensure all functional and non-functional business and technical requirements are satisfied and validated.
- Develop and ensure adherence to standardized QA processes and tools.
- Research QA best practices and recommend areas of improvement, update processes and ensure teams across their org are following procedures properly.
- Keep up to date on technical industry trends and tools.
- Lead test automation requirements and development efforts.
- Ensure that testing documentation and status for all projects is maintained in JIRA
- Communicate and coordinate technical and business aspects of work efforts between team members.
- Understand impact of code changes to existing applications and databases based on requirements.
- Provide time, resource, and scope estimates for testing, and ensures adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Review vendor documents as appropriate including detailed functional specifications and file and field layouts and determine if vendor solutions meet Cox requirements.
- Develop measurements and report on key service-level metrics.
- May participate in industry forums or company-wide events for the purpose of recommending or adopting tools or processes to advance QA functions.
Qualifications:MINIMUM
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline(i.e., software engineering, computer science, or similar) and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 18 years' experience in a related field
- Experience in Telecommunications Industry required.
- Experience with the ICOMS, IAC and NRM applications.
- Demonstrated experience using Jira for issue tracking, including creating and assigning issues, setting priorities and due dates. Successfully utilized Jira to track and resolve bugs within a project.
- Experience identifying and evaluating complex problems with multiple, conflicting solutions, and utilizing relevant information to make timely decisions
- Led or significantly contributed to the development and implementation of innovative solutions for high-impact, complex strategic or operational problems. Achieved by collaborating across multiple departments/stakeholders
- Played a key role in developing long-term strategic plans, by effectively navigating cross-functional dependencies within a highly matrixed organization
- Experience assessing competing tasks and deadlines to establish priorities for self and team.
PREFERRED
- 5+ years direct experience in Software Quality Assurance roles
- Working knowledge of Agile standards, tools, and disciplines
- Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
- Prior experience working for an MSO.
- Should be initiative-taking and require little follow-up to accomplish tasks.
- Possesses good listening skills and articulates clearly.
- Desire for continuous learning, personal growth, and to work collaboratively.
- Experience working in a heavily detail-oriented role
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills both horizontally and vertically.
USD 97,100.00 - 161,800.00 per year
Compensation:Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
