Cox Communication is looking for
Senior Data Architect as part of the Architecture team enabling data for BI, Reporting and Analytics across Cox Communications. The key function for the role is to support Data Support Systems (DSS) within the Technology organization. You would enable and deliver on program initiatives, projects, and operations across:
- Information Architecture (Data Domain & Schematics)
- Enterprise Data Platforms
- Master data management
- Metadata management
- Emerging Technologies (Cloud-based integration, Analytics, etc.)
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Create and design architecture solutions utilizing enterprise tools enabling a core hybrid architecture.
- Deliver Data Architecture and design artifacts in programs/projects leveraging standard data domains in alignment with entity driven approach.
- Be a thought leader and subject matter expert on enterprise data platforms (Big Data, AWS, Snowflake, EDW, ODS, Mosaic).
- Help define enterprise standards and best practices for data and analytics management and development, including data and metadata design, architectural and design patterns, tooling, etc.
- Lead solution architecture on multiple high visibility projects simultaneously.
- Lead Data modeling on various projects in accordance with enterprise standards for data modeling.
- Drive data & analytics solutions architecture development collaboratively with development teams and other architects within the organization with minimum supervision.
- Assist in cost assessments and recommend pragmatic approaches, balancing timelines with iterative cost optimization.
- Negotiate solutions between parties effectively and for the best of organization; be autonomous and make decisions without oversight when appropriate.
- Provide thought leadership to teams on leading data solutions to advance Cox Communication's data capabilities.
- Collaborate with Data Enablement peers and other architects and engineering leaders to establish an enterprise data architecture.
- Ensure alignment to enterprise standards and enterprise capabilities.
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years' experience in a related field
- 5+ years in data architecture design, development, and implementation.
- Technical experience in developing, implementing, and operating tools to include metadata, master data, reference data, data quality, data discovery and identification.
- Expert level Knowledge of Cloud platforms such as: AWS, Azure, and related platforms Snowflake, Databricks, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in data requirements gathering, data solution design, data flow diagrams, and data architecture.
- Demonstrated experience with data platforms: ODS, EDW, Big Data and Cloud.
- Breadth of technical experience and knowledge, with depth in Data Engineering (data exchange, data processing, and data delivery), Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and two or more of the following areas: Data Modeling, Meta Data Management, Master Data Management, AWS Solution Architecture.
- An intimate understanding of data processing, data integration, real-time analytics, data and analytic product development, data security, data governance, metadata management
- Deep understanding of the architecture of enterprise-scale data processing systems, distributed systems, and cloud computing platforms
- Experience working in a consultative manner with internal and external customers.
- Deep expertise in modeling, designing, and implementing enterprise data warehouses.
- Experience developing software using one or more programming languages (Java, Scala, Python, etc.)
- Experience working within DevOps/DataOps cultures and frameworks
- Expertise in canonical, 3NF and data-warehousing modeling techniques.
- Demonstrated ability in building data models adhering to business requirements and enterprise standards.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as AWS or Azure certified solution architect.
- Experience with Informatica, XML, and ETL processes a plus
- Experience in large scale data transformation and implementations
USD 97,100.00 - 161,800.00 per year
Compensation:Compensation includes a base salary of $97,100.00 - $161,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
