The Senior Director, Consumer Analytics Solutions is a seasoned leader with deep experience in digital marketing science, data strategy, analytics & decision science domains and organizational leadership. This leader will play a pivotal role in driving insights & decision influence for each of the core capabilities within Consumer Solutions (Advertising, Dealer Marketing, Marketplace, and Consumer Transactions). This leader will work to shape the Consumer Analytics strategy, driving consistency, accountability, and excellence across their teams to deliver data-driven capabilities for Cox Auto's industry-leading Consumer brands.The Consumer Analytics team is responsible for deeply understanding what drives consumer behavior through Consumer Journey mapping, influencing product development & enhancements, providing consultative-level insights for the world's biggest automotive brands & dealer groups, and visualizations, insights, and decision science to both internal and external customers. The team is also tasked with keeping ahead of emerging digital marketing data trends, responsible for data-focused industry partnerships and being sought after industry thought leaders. As privacy regulations continue to evolve, the team is tasked with developing data-driven strategies for consumer and client-facing marketing teams, with an emphasis on how to best leverage Cox Automotive's vast portfolio of data for activation and measurement purposes.Reporting to the AVP, Consumer Analytics, this role requires an innovative and experienced self-starter with the confidence and capability to guide and shape a forward-thinking multi-faceted Consumer Analytics data analytics strategy. Through proactive stakeholder management, industry and business partnership, this leader will ensure that deep insights generated through sophisticated analytics translate into impact at scale for customers and within the organization.This leader has a track record of evolving organizations leveraging change management, leading enterprise-level analytics initiatives & a wide breadth of analytics capabilities, influencing a highly matrixed organization and multi-level internal stakeholders and external customers & partners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of data analysts to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions that enable internal stakeholders and external clients (dealers, dealer groups, OEMs, Intermediaries, Agency partners) to drive marketing effectiveness & grow and protect CAI product adoption for each of the Consumer Solutions core capabilities (Advertising, Dealer Marketing, Marketplace, and Ecommerce/Consumer Transactions).
- Develop and implement Cox Automotive's Consumer Analytics capability, including designing an effective and sought-after organization.
- Establish foundational analytics, reporting, governance and professional services methodologies and integrations to drive business decisions for internal & external customers.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align Consumer Journey mapping across all consumer-facing brands and using insights to influence key stakeholders.
- Partner with the Cox Automotive Data Solutions & Product Group and other internal stakeholder teams to align and implement governance on data use, quality, integrity, and security to be used for internal and external clients and third-party partners, ensuring adoption and governance adherence.
- Ensure data solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and compliant to meet business needs.
- Establish consistent, valid, and reliable metrics and reporting that support advancing Cox Automotive's Consumer priorities and focus areas.
- Stay current on evolving technologies, tools, and methodologies providing recommendations to executive leadership.
- Evaluate and recommend adopting new technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of analytics.
- Leads analytics team with strong focus on meeting customer and business needs by effectively communicating data through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced techniques, including predictive modeling, generative AI, machine learning, data science and statistical analytics for Consumer Analytics.
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory and legal Consumer data privacy regulations and best practices.
- Cultivate & influence the industry in the Consumer Experience domain, driving Marketing Science thought leadership.
- Responsible for resource assignment and appropriately allocating team members to the highest value projects or initiatives.
- Leads and builds a team of professionals, including setting direction, providing feedback, managing performance, and providing development.
- Provide guidance on project prioritization, resource allocation, and career development.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and partners to ensure access to the latest technologies and best practices.
- Manages career progression for team members to include hiring, performance reviews, salary decisions, mentoring, and coaching.
- Responsible for establishing environments where team members can thrive and a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of significant technical experience in an analytics centric functional area, preferably in Consumer digital marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience (MS + 10 years of experience OR Ph.D. with 7+ years of experience OR 16+ years of relevant experience with no degree)
- Masters degree in analytics field preferred
- 7+ years people leadership experience
- Previous experience leading complex data teams requiring stringent data governance, clean rooms, and data agreements to minimize business risk and amplify business & customer outcomes.
- Previous management experience leading high-performing, multi-faceted analytics teams
- Strong knowledge of Consumer Journey mapping and application to consumer-facing products
- Excellent leadership and partnering skills required (partnering and leading peers and colleagues with no formal authority, influence without authority)
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking required; ability to link Consumer Analytics reporting with business outcomes
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to adapt to different levels within the organization
- Must possess an excellent ability to identify sources from advanced analytics to define paths and realize value
- Proven to have a deep understanding of fundamental machine-learning principles and familiar with machine-learning technologies and tools. Possesses strong leadership competencies including verbal and written communication and team collaboration skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills
- Strong consultative skills and ability to make persuasive recommendations based on business rationale at the executive level
- Strong executive presence; ability to partner closely with Executive leadership at multiple levels
- Ability and capacity for self-direction as well as the ability to work within various project teams
- Possesses the ability to draw insights using data and to make meaningful business recommendations
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments, multiple and conflicting priorities.
- Travel varies, but will be approximately 25%
USD 171,800.00 - 286,400.00
Compensation:Compensation includes a base salary of $171,800.00 - $286,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
