Medical Surgical/Pediatric Unit Nurse
Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Surgical/Pediatric Unit Nurse to join our team at a 65-bed acute care hospital in Washington. As a Medical Surgical/Pediatric Unit Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with various medical conditions. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to promote patient recovery and ensure a safe and healing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients in the medical surgical/pediatric unit.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide direct patient care as per physician orders.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs, progress, and response to treatments.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on managing their conditions and promoting wellness.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
- Minimum of one year of experience in medical surgical and/or pediatric nursing.
- Strong knowledge of medical surgical and pediatric nursing practices and procedures.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team and provide compassionate patient care.
- BLS certification required; PALS certification preferred for pediatric nursing.
