Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Long Term Care Registered Nurse RN will render nursing care and related assistance to residents in the Long Term Care Facility in support of medical care as ordered by medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of the Facility. The Long Term Care Registered Nurse RN will be responsible for Certified Nursing Assistant personnel who provide assistance.
The Long Term Care Staff Nurse RN will be responsible for maintaining accurate resident records. Assist in determining the nursing care plan, pursuant to the medical plan of the Physician for each of the residents. Records nursing needs of residents on plan to assure continuity of care. Assists in planning, directing, and supervising nursing care as determined by the objectives of the care plan and gives direct nursing care as indicated.
The Long Term Care Registered Nurse RN Directly responsible for supervising care delegated to others and determine that safe and efficient care is provided. Recognizes the need for and participates in the interpretation of nursing care and of facility policies to the resident and family. Observes, records, and reports pertinent information of the resident's condition and reaction to medications; treatments and significant incidents to the DNS or Physician.
The Long Term Care Staff Nurse RN will maintains resident's medical records on nursing observation and action taken such as medications and treatments given, reactions, tests, intake and output, temperature, pulse and respiration rate as ordered and/or needed. Participates in inter-shift report, unit conference, in-service activities, and nursing research.
