The new Emergency Services Nurse Educator will join a vibrant community hospital that’s part of one of America’s top health systems. This medical center has earned a great reputation for a broad range of specialties, including Stroke and STEMI, Cardiovascular, Oncology, and for its Birth Center. This 300+ bed location provides Trauma Services to the area as well as in depth community education and patient support.
Reporting to Professional Development and Clinical Education Director, the Clinical Nurse Educator will play an integral role in the Emergency Services Department and throughout the hospital. Working closely with the ED Nursing Director and Emergency Room Nurse Manager, this Educator will provide a broad array of educational support to a high performing ED and Trauma Services team.
Supporting and providing a robust Education program, the Emergency Services Clinical Nurse Educator will have the opportunity to develop and support some one of the hospital’s most departments. This educator will be creating, implementing, and improving educational materials for an already outstanding team of ED RNs, CENs, Emergency Department Technicians, and the ED Float Pool, just to name a few. The Emergency Department has over 30-beds and 100 FTEs, so this will be a rewarding role with tons of room to grow!
Many of the staff members you’ll be working with are well-tenured and seasoned ED Nurses. Clinical experience in the Emergency Department will of course be important, but this person should also have experience with a wide variety of teaching and learning methods, techniques, and tools. This kind of experience generally comes from some kind of prior educator or preceptor role, and someone with a Masters in Nursing Education will surely earn very fast interviews.
