Safety-Kleen is currently seeking an Industrial Painter –1st Shift for our Manufacturing Team. The hourly rate for this role is $19.00-$20.00/hour, depending on experience. This position is based at our facility in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
The Painter is responsible for sanding, cleaning, masking, and painting part washer units and fabricated components which require final finishing. Most units must be painted before final completion. The individual must produce an eye-pleasing, durable, painted finished product and be able to perform self-inspection of his work. The Painter will help in other areas as time permits. These other areas include, but are not limited to assembly, metal fabrication, and teardown of field returns.

- Follow all safety protocols for paint disposal, and the safe use and disposal of solvent for cleaning paint guns and components.
- Be responsible for the proper preparation of all surfaces to be sprayed; this includes bare metal areas and proper sanding, and feather edging of previously painted surfaces.
- Be required to know what areas must be masked to prevent them from being painted.
- Rework and repaint product as required to meet quality standards.
- Painting of small parts and non-standard fabricated materials.
- Determine the correct color for each item being painted.
- Adjust and periodically check all pump pressures, heater temperatures, air and fluid pressures to maintain the best possible spraying application condition.
- Check and maintain proper fluid and air pressure in pressure pots used for spraying.
- Change filters and maintain the cleanliness of spray booth as well as the spray guns on a routine basis.
- Use equipment to move units into and out of the spray booth.
- Cross-train and perform duties in other work areas of the manufacturing team.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution is required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of previous industrial painting experience.
- Must be able to meet all qualifications for wearing a respirator.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- No relocation is being offered for this role.
- Ability to work overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Painting experience with water reducible enamel paints.
- Working knowledge of HVLP Air Spray, Pressure Pot systems
- Previous working knowledge of other industrial airless or air pressure painting systems.
